Wheat Paneer Tikka Pizza / Whole Wheat Pizza / Paneer Tikka Piizza / Home Made Pizza

Paneer tikka pizza is really a tasty choice of topping for vegetarians!

Though i have posted Pizza recipe earlier; i want to try a healthier version as my kids are very fond of pizza.

So to improve the nutritional value of pizza, I included half whole-wheat flour and half all-purpose flour to prepare pizza base which gives a soft crust. To improve the flavour you can also add garlic powder / oregano to the pizza base.

Try and eat this healthy cum fusion pizza without guilty!

Yield - 2 medium sized pizza

Ingredients:

For Pizza Base:

Whole wheat flour - 1 ½ cup
All-purpose flour- 1 cup
Sugar - 1 tsp
Warm water - 1 ½ to 2 cup
Active dry yeast - 2 tsp
Olive oil - 2 tbsp
Salt - 1½ tsp

For Paneer Tikka:

Paneer (cottage cheese) - 250 grams
Hung yogurt - 1 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Red chili powder - 3/4 tsp to 1 tsp( adjust according to your spice level)
Coriander powder - ½ tsp
cumin powder - ¼ tsp
Garam masala powder - ½ tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp

For Pizza Topping:

Pizza/Pasta Sauce - 3  to 4 tbsp
Onion - ½ (thinly sliced)
Capsicum - ½ (deseeded and thinly sliced)
Black olives - 5 to 6 (Sliced)
Grated mozarella cheese - 2 tbsp or as required to cover the topping
Olive Oil - for brushing the base
Oregano and chilli flakes - to sprinkle on top (optional)

Directions:

To Prepare Paneer tikka:

Take a bowl, add hung / thick curd, lemon juice, garlic ginger paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and mix well.

Add paneer pieces to this curd mixture and mix well; allow to marinate for 2 to 3 hours.

Insert the paneer cubes in skewers and grill or heat oil in a non stick pan, place the paneer cubes in it and cook till i turns golden brown.

Keep aside.

Making the Pizza Dough:

In a bowl, sprinkle yeast, little sugar and warm water; allow it to stay until frothy for about 5 minutes. This means yeast is active and ready to use.

Take a wide bowl and add wheat flour, all purpose flour, salt, sugar and mix thoroughly.

Make a well in the center of the flour and add the yeast mixture , olive oil and slowly mix in the water as needed until the dough sticks together.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.

Knead by hand for 5 to 7 minutes and shape into a ball and set in a lightly oiled bowl.

Cover loosely with a towel, and let stand in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Punch down the dough and again knead for few minutes; cover and keep aside for another 45 minutes.

Preparing the Pizza base:

Preheat the oven to 200 deg. C; Start making the pizza base.

Divide the dough into half for two pizzas.

Using rolling pin, roll out dough to the shape & size of pizza of your choice.

For a round pizza, shape it to a rough circle and place in the lightly greased pizza pan; use your hands to get a perfect shape with the raised edges.

Prick it with fork; this will help the dough to rise evenly.  Brush it with olive oil and keep aside.

Assembling the pizza:

Brush the pizza base with olive oil; it gives the crust great flavor and crunch.

Spread the pizza sauce ; arrange with the onion, capsicum, olives and paneer tikka pieces.

At last sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Sprinkle with oregano and chilli flakes if you want.

Drizzle little olive oil on top before baking (this is something that I like to do; but I leave it to your choice).

Bake in a preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until crust is lightly browned and the cheese melts.

Cut into wedges with pizza cutter / knife and serve hot.

Note:

Here i have used only tomato ketch up and sprinkled some red chill flakes for spiciness instead of pizza sauce.

The baking temperature and time will vary depending on the oven specification and pizza thickness.
